AUDITIONS AT STAGES

 

We typically audition youth ages 10-18 for our productions. Adult actor auditions will be posted as needed. We begin taking audition appointments 2 weeks prior to the audition dates listed below. Auditions, rehearsals & performances are held at Stages Theatre Company, located in the Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Mainstreet, Hopkins 55343.

Please contact our Audition Coordinator Emily Sullivan by emailing esullivan@stagestheatre.org about any accommodations you may need for your upcoming audition with us. We are happy to provide materials in advance, large print scripts, or other requests as needed. Just ask!

CHARACTERS
  • The Family
  • Lily Reeves, a girl aged 11
  • Sam Reeves, a girl aged 15
  • Joan Reeves/Mom, a woman aged 40-42
  • Halmoni/Ae-cha Ku, a woman aged around 60
 
Youth Ensemble
  • Ricky Everett, a boy aged 11
  • Jensen, a girl aged 16
  • The Tiger, a spirit with a female voice
The Family characters should be played by Asian American actors. The characters of Lily and Sam may be biracial or mixed race. Lily, Sam, Joan, and Ae-cha should be female identifying. The Tiger should have a female identified voice.
We seek a diverse cast and encourage actors of all ethnicities, cultures, gender identities, socioeconomic status and (dis)abilities to audition.

WHAT TO PREPARE: Actors should prepare a monologue or short story 1 minute in length.

LOCATION: All auditions, rehearsals and performances for Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! will take place at Stages Theatre Company, located in the Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Mainstreet, Hopkins, MN.

Stages Theatre Company was founded in 1984 and has since grown to become the second-largest nonprofit theatre for young audiences in Minnesota.
