AUDITION DATES: Monday, Feb 14 and Tuesday, Feb 15, 2022

CALLBACKS: Wednesday, Feb 16, 2022

LOCATION: All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will take place at the Capri Theatre: 2027 West Broadway, Minneapolis, MN 55411.

CONTENT WARNING: Strong language and violence will be depicted in this play.

SEEKING: For All American Boys, we are seeking youth performers ages 12-18. Please prepare a short monologue or story for your audition. If an in-person audition during the scheduled dates does not work for you, please reach out to us at auditions@stagestheatre.org to discuss alternate options.

Directors’ Statement:

“All American Boys deals directly with police violence. It is our desire as directors to ensure that actors, designers, and crew involved are able to tackle this traumatic material in a way that does not re-traumatize anyone involved. We ask that those interested in participating in All American Boys recognize and embrace the multiple generations of artists who will create this piece together.

At its core, All American Boys is a story of personal resilience and communal resilience; we will do the necessary work to create a rehearsal process that bolsters and celebrates the strength and resilience of our communities. We have no interest in depicting Black pain for the benefit of white audiences.

We mourn George Floyd, Daunte Wright, Philando Castile, and countless others who have been murdered by police. It is our hope that this production will be an opportunity for conversation and healing around the pain of police violence that continues to harm our communities locally and beyond.”

IMPORTANT: Health & Safety Statement for ALL AMERICAN BOYS
For this production, all those auditioning must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by their assigned audition date. A booster dose is required of everyone cast in the show, if eligible. During auditions and rehearsals, all performers & staff will be required to wear a face mask. At this time, we plan to perform without masks. We are limiting audition groups to a maximum size of 10 performers per timeslot. Families will be asked to fill out an online audition form after receiving an audition appointment, to help decrease the number of person-to-person interactions at auditions.
